ARROYO BURRO BEACH

Arroyo Burro Beach, aka Hendry’s Beach, is a local favorite in The Mesa community. It is best known for its winding coastline, light surf, and is one of the only parks in the area that allows dogs to be off leash. Just beyond the shore lies the Douglas Family Preserve, which offers 70-acres of undeveloped park with lots of hiking trails and vistas. You can even find the famous Boathouse Restaurant, a popular restaurant located on the sands of the beach.

Summerland beach is one of the most picturesque in Santa Barbara county. Red Kettle Coffee is another great option for artisan coffee and yummy baked goods, and the new Feast at Field + Fort is a cottage-turned-cafe that serves all day breakfast, sandwiches, and coffee. If you’re looking for more hearty lunch and dinner options, the iconic Nugget Bar & Grill is a local favorite institution.

There is no shortage of unique, boutique stores dotted all along the main road of town. A quick stroll through town will reveal Summerland is a haven for antique and home good shops.
